It has been confirmed that senior Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif was shot and killed by the police based on a misunderstanding.

According to foreign media, Arshad Sharif was shot in the head by Kenyan police near Nairobi after his driver allegedly violated the rules at a checkpoint.

In this regard, the Kenyan police say that the Pakistani journalist was traveling with his driver from Magadi to Nairobi, where the police were checking the road by blocking the road.

According to the police, we received a report of taking a child hostage in a bar similar to Arshad Sharif, which was blocking the road and checking the vehicles. On which they were chased and then this sad incident happened.

Kenya Police Headquarters says the Independent Policing Oversite Authority is investigating the matter.
